The DeHaan Hall project

In November of 2023 I began working for an Imlay City customer on a large project. The goal was to convert a six car pole barn into a theater for live stage performances. In a former life the barn had been a small auto repair shop.

November 2023 The first task was to apply foam and drywall on the south wall in preparation for the construction of the stage.

January 2024 The 20'x20' stage was constructed.




May 2024
The overhead door next to the stage was removed and steel siding installed in its place.

With the stage completed, more foam and drywall was installed on the wall behind the stage.
Next to the stage, where the overhead door had been, a new door was installed.

Theatrical curtains were installed at the back of the stage.

A second set of curtains was hung between the seating area and the lobby.

A projection screen was hung for multimedia performances.

OCTOBER 2024
Theatrical lighting installed.



DECEMBER 2024
The two remaining overhead doors had insulating foam installed...

...and the rest of the walls were insulated and drywalled.
